BGRA HOT WEATHER TRIALS POLICY
Arm trial sessions:
Should, for the date of the arm trial session, the Bureau of Meteorology be predicting a temperature of 36 degrees or above on the day the trial bookings open then the trial session will be a restricted session with no trials will be conducted after 12 Noon.
Example: If the forecast temperature for a Saturday in Bendigo is 36 degrees on Wednesday prior then that Saturday trial session will conclude at 12 Noon.
Note: The BGRA has the discretion to cancel or alter the trial session in the case of extreme heat prior to or on the day. Further, as per the GRV Hot Weather policy relating to race meetings, should the forecast temperature for the trial session be 38 degrees or higher at 12 Noon the day prior then the trial session will be cancelled.  (NB: A trial session is the start and end time of the proposed trial session plus 2 hours either side for traveling.)
After race meeting trial sessions:
Should a twilight or day race meeting be rescheduled by GRV to a morning meeting as a result of the predicted temperatures under GRV’s Hot Weather Policy then there will be no trials after the race meeting on that day.
The BGRA reserves the right to cancel after race meeting trials at twilight and day meetings when circumstances warrant. Any decision to cancel after race meeting trials will be done so no later than 9am the day of the meeting (earlier where possible).
TRAINERS NOTE: The trial kennels situated in the old office/kennel block are air conditioned and are available for use for both race days and trial days as are the shaded empty/cool down yards and hose bays and bath tub in the same area.
