A new generation of greyhound racing stars will be auctioned on Saturday at GRV’s 2015 Ready 2 Race Sales at Lords Raceway in Bendigo.
Greyhounds trialled in groups of four at Bendigo over 425 metres on Sunday and they return to trial again in half fields on Saturday from 10:00am before going to auction at 12:30pm.
The Ready 2 Race concept limits much of the risk involved in purchasing a greyhound. Around 92 per cent of the 96 greyhounds sold at the 2014 R2R Sales have gone on to race, with almost 80 per cent winning at least one race, while more than 25 per cent have raced in the city.
The series has attracted big interest from buyers on the back some of the success stories to emerge from previous series. Below is a list of the top prize money earners from the 2013 and 2014 Ready 2 Race Sales, with plenty more bargain buys sure to emerge out of Saturday’s sales.
