The BGRA is excited to announce details of a new race that will see the winner gaining an entry form into the 2015 Group 2 Razldazl Greyhounds Launching Pad at Sandown.
For the 2015 Launching Pad, the Sandown Greyhound Racing Club decided to introduce an entry form component to the $140,000 to the winner event with entries offered at a cost of $2000 each and limited to the first 64 purchased.
The BGRA purchased an entry form and it will be offered as a “trophy” to the winner of the BGRA Launching Pad Qualifier, to be known as The Springboard, in February 2015.
Open to greyhounds with 1 – 3 wins and no more than 25 starts, the BGRA Launching Pad Qualifier will be held over 500m with heats on Friday 20th February 2015 and final on Friday 27th February 2015.
The conditions of the event fit in with not only the conditions of the Launching Pad at Sandown but also a final qualifying event to be held at Sandown as well and the Club is pleased to be part of the unique concept.
“When the Sandown Club released details of the unique concept the BGRA immediately committed to supporting the concept and purchasing an entry form and are pleased to be have secured an entry that will be offered as a prize for the qualifying event” said BGRA Manager Troy Harley.
“Hats off to Sandown for trying something different and innovative and with entries selling out in less than two days it has been well received and sought after by owners and trainers and the BGRA is excited to be able to be a part of a promotion that will see the eventual winner at Sandown pocket $140,000″.
“If the 2015 series at Bendigo proves popular the Club it may well be added to the calendar on a permanent basis and possibly look at additional stakes being added into the future”. added Harley.
