After proving one of the most popular races on the Vic calendar in 2020 the BGRA is excited to announce that The Battler’s Cup is on again during the upcoming Bendigo Cup Carnival.
Heats of the 2021 Battler’s Cup over 425m will be held on Wednesday October 6 with the $5,000 to the winner final (and a consolation for provincial stakes) will be held on Friday night October 15.
Conditions for the 2021 Battler’s Cup changed slightly from 2020 to ensure tier 3 eligible greyhounds that competed in the Grass Roots Championship are able to contest the Battler’s Cup.
Eligibility:
- Must be Tier 3 eligible at close of noms
- Must be in trainers care on or before 1 September 2021
- Maidens ineligible
- Minimum 10 starts at close of noms
- No city wins (full stake metro)
- No city starts after 1 September 2021 (excluding SAP & MEP)
- Random ballot for heat positions if more than 96 noms with no trainer guarding
