Lord’s Raceway plays host tonight to some star greyhound as they conduct the 2016 Group 2 $67,000 Bendigo Cup Final. It looms up as a tremendously competitive race with a host of winning chances.
Here are my top three selections…
1ST: Ultimate Magic (box 8) has blinding early speed and I think the draw is perfect for him. Unlawful Entry who has drawn to his immediate inside isn’t the fastest beginner so I expect him to get a clear run early, and if he can charge across them running to the first turn I think he is the one to beat.
2ND: Proven Kodiak (box 4) is racing exceptionally well and although he has drawn a little awkwardly in box 4 it suits him better than down near the rail. He needs to begin at his very best but if he can he is certainly a big show here.
3RD: Unlawful Entry (box 7) one out is the best dog in the race but two major negatives are the fact that he is slow to begin and that the cup is only over 425m. If he can get an unimpeded run at the first corner then he will be scorching home, but I’m concerned he will be giving them a large head start.
I’ve left out Shepparton Cup winner Gotta Get Back, Aston Bolero (who should start favourite) Zoltina’s Legacy and Traralgon Cup winner Pantera Nera but it wouldn’t surprise to see any of the eight dogs win this Group 2 feature.
