Cheer The 5 For Kids in June

The Bendigo Greyhound Racing Association is pleased to once again stage the “Cheer The Five For Kids” month , raising funds the Give Me 5 For Kids Charity.

A special racing vest is worn by the number five runner in each race at Bendigo throughout the month of June that carries the GM54K logo and the BGRA will donate $55 to the Charity for each number five runner that is victorious at Lord’s Raceway for the month of June.

Now in its sixth year, Cheer The 5 For Kids was the BGRA’s first involvement with Give Me 5 For Kids in 2012 and since then the Club has continued to expand its involvement with various promotions. Each year the Give Me 5 For Kids fundraiser kicks off with Girl’s Night Out at the Bendigo greyhounds and this year that event raised almost $4000.

Give Me 5 For Kids is Southern Cross Austereo’s national fundraiser which supports local children’s hospital wards across regional Australia. Each June SCA’s local radio and television networks get behind the cause and with SCA being the BGRA’s media partner the Club is pleased to get more involved each year for such a great cause.

On top of Girl’s Night Out and Cheer The 5 For Kids month, the BGRA is planning a bumper kids day on Sunday July 2 as the final fundraiser for GM54K for 2017 with details of that event to be announced in the next week.

“Cheer The 5 For Kids” race meetings are scheduled for June 2, 6, 7, 9, 14, 16, 20, 21, 23 and 28.
